Working with the upper chakras while using Inner Chi Reiki can help with stress reduction and anxiety relief. In this article I will outline the self-healing techniques that will help release tension and alleviate symptoms of anxiety.
Inner Chi Reiki for stress reduction and anxiety relief uses different hand positions to activate healing energy. Placing your hands in various positions over the upper chakras can bring more life force energy, also known as chi or ki, into your chakras. Having fresh chi flow to your chakras brings your w-holistic self; body, mind and spirit back to a state of ease.
The instructions below are for Inner Chi Reiki. You will want to hold each hand position for at least a minute or until you can feel the warmth of your hands. Be sure to inhale and exhale deeply throughout the healing process.
1. Place your hands over the crown chakra located on the top of your head. This position brings in more life force energy or chi energy to help the body heal.
2. Place your hands on the back of your head. This position, known as the letting go point, assists in bringing the w-holistic self; body, mind, spirit into a deeper state of relaxation.
3. Cup your hands over your ears. This position helps to relieve anxiety by quieting the mind. (This position is also useful in alleviating earaches.)
4. Place one hand over your forehead chakra and the other hand on the back of your head. This position helps in relieving tension held in your neck.
5. Place your hands a few inches from your face. The palm of your hand should be over your sinus cavities and the tips of your fingers should be pointed towards your forehead chakra. This position allows your sinuses to open, enabling you to breathe more freely. Getting fresh oxygen into your body aids in both stress reduction and anxiety relief.
6. Place your hands over your heart chakra. This position helps to alleviate tightness in your chest and further relax your body. Also, placing your hands over your heart chakra seals in healing energy for stress reduction and anxiety relief.

Excellent question. I believe anyone can perform energy healing. The techniques discussed here do not require a reiki class to be able to perform them. Think of it this way when someone has a headache what do you see them do? Hold their head with their hand. It’s natural for us to use touch in order to heal ourselves. Don’t just take my word for it, try it for yourself!
